Air-to-Water Heat Pumps

All-in-one hydronic heating, cooling, and domestic hot water — proven in Canada's coldest climates, down to -30°C.

What Is the Ecodan WUZ?

The Mitsubishi Electric Ecodan WUZ Air-to-Water Heat Pump delivers hydronic heating, chilled water for cooling, and domestic hot water production. Proven across Europe since 2011, the Ecodan WUZ is now optimized for Canada's coldest climates. Its refrigerant-split R-32 system delivers efficient heat pump performance and hydronic comfort. By keeping water circuits indoors, this design eliminates the need for glycol or heat trace and reduces installation and maintenance costs.

Advanced Technology

Built for Canadian Climates

Cold Climate Performance

Hyper Heating Inverter Technology delivers 100% heating capacity at -15°C and operation down to -30°C. Built-in backup electric heater ensures ultimate comfort even in extreme cold.

Flexible Installation

The all-in-one Hydrobox includes a pump, expansion vessel, magnetic filter, booster electric heater, plate heat exchanger, relief valve, and flow components — reducing onsite fabrication and installation hours. Compatible with piping runs up to 164 ft total and 100 ft vertical.

Domestic Hot Water

Leaving water temperature up to 70°C/158°F enables compatibility with a wide range of legacy hydronic emitters and domestic hot water production — the highest in its class.

Quiet Comfort

Outdoor units operate as low as 41–45 dB(A) using anti-vibration design and multilayer sound insulation — ideal for urban infill and multi-unit residential construction.

Smart System Control

The Flow Temperature Controller (FTC) manages the outdoor unit, indoor hydrobox, zone control, hydronic circuit, and system temperatures. Supports Eco Mode, booster heater management, advanced diagnostics, and SD card duplication for fast multi-site setup.

Retrofit & New Construction Ready

Works with existing distribution systems when paired with appropriate supply temperatures. Built-in boiler integration supports hybrid configurations for staged electrification — ideal for boiler replacements.

Ideal Applications

New Construction

Supports modern low-temperature hydronic heating design while still delivering high water temperatures where required. Reduces reliance on fossil-fuel infrastructure.

Retrofits & Boiler Replacements

Works with existing distribution systems. Built-in boiler integration supports hybrid configurations for staged electrification.

Multi-Family & Light Commercial

Compact, all-in-one Hydrobox consolidates key system components into a single enclosure, simplifying installation and servicing in space-constrained mechanical rooms.
