Home Renovation Rebate — Heat Pump (Electric Homes)
Better Homes BC — funded by BC Hydro & FortisBC
BC homeowners replacing electric heating (baseboard or furnace) with a qualifying heat pump can receive up to $4,000 through the Home Renovation Rebate Program. Available to BC Hydro and FortisBC customers province-wide.

- Up to $6,000 for northern BC homes switching from oil
- Up to $8,000 for northern BC homes switching from natural gas or propane
- Applies to ducted and ductless (mini-split) systems

Energy Savings Program — Income-Based Heat Pump Rebates
Better Homes BC — Province of BC
The Energy Savings Program offers significantly higher rebates based on household income. Qualifying homeowners can receive up to $13,000 for a heat pump upgrade. Income thresholds are generous — a family of 4 can earn up to $189,800 and still qualify.

BC Hydro
Condo owners and rental building owners can get up to $2,250 for replacing electric space heating with a heat pump in their individual unit. Pre-approval is required before purchasing equipment. A limited-time bonus of up to $1,000 is currently available for installations completed by October 31, 2026.
